LMC FAQ
๐๏ธ Ordering & Sizing
Are LMC decals made to order?
Yes! Every decal is made to order just for you. The only time I may have premade decals is when I'm preparing for a car show, market, or other event.
Can I request a custom size?
Yes! If you need a size that isn't currently listed, email lostmindcustoms@gmail.com before ordering and I'll let you know what I can do.
Can I request a custom design?
Absolutely. If you have an idea you'd love to see on your vehicle, email lostmindcustoms@gmail.com with your idea.
Can I choose any color?
Currently, all designs are available in all of our offered vinyl colors. Color options may change as LMC grows.
Can I order different sizes and colors together?
Yes! You can mix and match designs, sizes, and colors in the same order.
๐ Sizing & Fit
How do I know what size to order?
For odd-shaped areas, measure from the widest point to the tallest point of the area you're applying the decal to. Each listing includes a visual measuring guide to help.
Are LMC decals vehicle-specific?
No. Our decals are universal and designed to be trimmed to fit your vehicle and application area.
Current sizing is available up to 24" ร 12".
Do I need to trim my decal?
Yes. Our decals are not pre-cut to the exact dimensions of your vehicle. They're designed to give you the material you need to fit your specific application area, so trimming may be necessary.
What if I order the wrong size?
All sales are final, so please double-check your measurements before ordering. If you're unsure about sizing, email lostmindcustoms@gmail.com before placing your order and I'll be happy to help.
๐ Installation
Do decals come with transfer tape?
Yes! Transfer tape is already applied to your decal before it ships, so it's ready for installation.
Can I install the decal myself?
Absolutely. LMC decals are designed for DIY installation.
Every product listing includes installation instructions.
Should I use the wet or dry application method?
Both methods can work depending on the decal and your experience.
If you're nervous about installation or it's your first time, wet application is generally more forgiving and gives you more opportunity to reposition the decal.
Can I apply a decal to a window that rolls down?
Yes! Just make sure the decal is positioned so it doesn't interfere with the window's movement or seals.
What if I'm worried about messing up the installation?
Try the wet application method. It gives you more flexibility to reposition the decal before it fully adheres.
๐งผ Durability & Care
How long do LMC decals last?
With proper installation and care, our decals can last 5+ years.
Are LMC decals safe for car washes?
Yes. They're designed for indoor and outdoor use and can withstand normal car washing.
Can I pressure wash my vehicle?
Yes, but use reasonable care around the edges of the decal. Avoid directing high-pressure water directly at the edges.
Can I clean my vehicle normally after installing a decal?
Yes. Normal vehicle and glass cleaning products can be used.
What are LMC decals made from?
LMC currently uses ORACAL 651 Matte vinyl, a permanent adhesive vinyl designed for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications. It's known for its durability, weather resistance, scratch resistance, and fade resistance.
๐ Removing Your Decal
How do I remove an LMC decal?
Use a credit card or similar tool to gently lift a corner, then slowly peel the decal away from the surface.
If adhesive residue remains, Goo Gone can be used to help remove it.
Can I reuse my decal after removing it?
No. LMC decals are not reusable once removed.
Will removing the decal damage my vehicle?
The decal itself should not damage a properly maintained surface when removed correctly.
Do not use a razor blade or other sharp object to remove your decal. A razor can scratch or damage vehicle paint or glass. LMC is not responsible for damage caused by improper removal.
What surfaces should I apply my decal to?
Apply decals to clean, smooth, properly maintained surfaces.
We don't recommend applying decals over peeling paint, heavily oxidized surfaces, damaged clear coat, or other deteriorating surfaces.
LMC isn't responsible for pre-existing surface damage that may be revealed during application or removal.

โญ Before You Install
Not sure how transfer tape works?
The beige-looking layer is your application/transfer tape. The vinyl design is transferred from the backing paper onto that tape.
When installing:
1. Position the decal where you want it.
2. Use a credit card or squeegee to firmly press the design onto the surface and push out air bubbles.
3. Slowly remove the transfer tape at a sharp angle, making sure the vinyl stays adhered to the vehicle.
4. Take your time โ especially around small details.
If you're new to decals, don't rush the install. The wet method can give you more room to correct positioning mistakes.
